NOTE: THIS PARTICULAR INTO THE WILD IS ALL ABOUT THE ADVENTURE AND THE INCREDIBLE SIGHTS AND EXPERIENCES. Oman is definitely not like home! This is a road trip but the driving lenghts will not be over 3 hours usually.

March 24-April 1, 2026. You DO NOT want to miss this. You will fly into Muscat, Oman on Sunday the 24th of March, and fly out of Mustcat on Wednesday morning the 1st of April, 2026.
What:

An experience that will make you feel youthful and adventurous. A bonding experience not to be missed in scenes that are unbelievable.
We will explore together. Enjoy gorgeous hikes together. Dunebash through the desert dunes. Swim in turquoise swimming holes. Eat wonderful food together. Snorkel and see incredible sea creatures! And create unforgettable memories together, of course.
Have you ever been to a place so different from your own home country in sights, smells, sounds, textures… you could hardly wrap your mind around it?
We can show you some of Oman’s most amazing sights and experiences and help you wander.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We will be moving from one lodging to another quite frequently. We’ll be in Muscat for 3 nights, then for the next four nights moving lodgings every day, finally ending up for our last night back in Muscat. This will help us see more and drive less. Pack accordingly, we’d love for you to bring one carryon and one SMALL (read: not large) checked bag.
REFUND policy: Due to the nature of trip planning, there aren’t refunds available for any portion of this trip. We do welcome you to sell your ticket and achieve your refund through that sale. For any resales you might desire help with, email resales@itwadventure.com.
Into The Wild is now requiring its trip attendees to provide proof of travel insurance purchase for this trip. Generally this costs an extra $100usd, and can save your bacon when traveling and things go wrong. Please email wendy@itwadventure.com if you have any questions about getting travel insurance.
Note: During this trip, we will glamp in the Sahara Desert in luxury tents (2 per tent- the tents are huge, can barely be called tents, and have real beds and bathrooms). We will hopefully be able to see the Milky Way if the weather cooperates.
All rooms are shared occupancy. No private rooms are available.
this is the itinerary for the trip (subject to changes)
March 24: Arrive in Muscat, ITW will provide you transport to the hotel. Rest until dinner, which is at 6:30! Hang out, meet your fellow Wilders, and sleep.
March 25: In the morning, we will visit the Grand Mosque. (Long sleeves, pants/dress down to your ankles and head scarf are required to enter). After lunch, we will go to Mutrah (old Muscat) to visit the Mutrah Fort and wander in the Mutrah Souq and have dinner in the Souq.
March 26: This morning we have a real adventure! We will head out on boats to the Daymaniyat Islands for snorkeling. You’ll see tons of sharks, turtles, corals and many colorful fish. We’ll have lunch while on the tour and a bit of free time aftewards to rest or see things on your own. Dinner is at 6:30pm.
March 27: Today we will leave Muscat early and head toward the town of Sur. On the way we’ll make 2 stops. The first stop is the Bimma Sinkhole - we will swim in this unique place for a bit, then head to our second stop- Wadi Shab. This is a 5km (3 mile) moderately difficult round trip hike into a canyon with beautiful natural swimming pools. Afterwards we will continue to Sur for showers and dinner. If there’s time, we will also check out the city’s lighthouse, fort, and other interesting sights!
March 28 Let’s hit the road and make a stop at Wadi Bani Khalid on our way to Bidiyah -another great water canyon with little to no hiking involved. Lunch will be in Bidiyah before heading out into the desert. We will head on to our desert camp and take on some adventures such as dune bashing or camel rides and more. The camp is in charge of our food and entertainment- this is going to be so unique and so much fun.
March 29: Today we leave the desert and head toward Nizwa, making a stop at the Birkat Al Mouz ruins on the way. When we get to Nizwa we will explore its wonderful market and fort. Dinner, and rest.
March 30: Today we’ll Visit the Al Hamra ruins and explore the beautiful town of Al Misfat before making our way up the Jebel Shams mountains. These mountains are stunning! We will stay the night in Jebel Shams mountains and get an early start in the morning and avoid hiking in the heat.
March 31: This Morning we will take on the Jebel Shams Balcony Walk hike. This hike Takes about 4 hours. Not much elevation gain, but it’s also not flat and its on the rim of a massive canyon-gorgeous (if you’re afraid of heights, you might skip this). At the end of the trail we’ll see some ruins from a former village, plus a little cave and pool to cool off in. The views are jaw dropping. Also: goats! Lots and lots of goats. Tonight we will drive back to Muscat and have our last group dinner together.
April 1: Trip is over! Into the Wild will handle all of your transport back to the airport.
