Nepal trek for couples: November 12-21, 2026

Into the Wild is a chance to take a moment for you and your partner. To dive deep into your wild selves. To see the himalayas’ beauty, culture, and landscape. To, simply put, have a wild time with your partner, experience the mountains of Nepal that will take your breath away, sleep in tea houses, eat local food, and try new things. To accomplish a feat that will challenge you and make you feel proud.

This couples journey to Nepal is for partners who want to step away from routine and into something meaningful. Beginning and ending in Kathmandu, we’ll travel into the Annapurna region to trek the iconic Poon Hill trail. The hike is challenging enough to feel like a true accomplishment, yet accessible for active couples ready to move together through remarkable landscapes. This trail is really great for a couple who haven’t hiked in the high altitudes of the Himalayas before, as we stay lower than other trails but still get the feel of a high altitude hike among stunning peaks.

Days are spent walking mountain paths, sharing quiet conversations, and taking in Himalayan sunsets that remind you how big and beautiful the world is. Evenings are relaxed and social amidst the local families as we stay the night in their tea houses off the trail. This trip offers time to connect not only with your partner but with other adventurous couples in our group. Some very long lasting and meaningful friendships among couples have been forged in this exact manner on Into the Wild Adventure treks!

This trip is about reconnecting through shared effort, fresh air, and unforgettable views and returning home stronger, clearer, and proud of what you’ve done together.

Come as you are (ready to hike!) and leave as your best selves, with new friends, new experiences, and a new zest for life and the outdoors.

The cost per couple for this trip is $4999.

Below is the information on what you’ll experience on this thru-hiking trip in Nepal.

This hiking trip is priced at $4999 per couple (two people in a romantic relationship). You may pay in one or two installments. This price will include the first two nights hotel stay in Kathmandu, Nepal, 6 nights in tea houses, and then a final night back in Kathmandu. It also includes all breakfasts, lunches and dinners, automobile transportation and in-country flights. when:

November 12-21, 2026. You must book your flight to arrive on November 12 to Kathmandu Airport to avoid problems with delays, etc. We will spend November 13th sightseeing in Kathmandu, we will fly to the beginning of the trek on the 14th, and then begin our trek on the 15th.

The trek will include 6 nights stays in teahouses run by locals. Please note that the tea houses mostly have twin beds, and you’ll be given a sleeping bag to sleep in. Each night we will rest up, enjoy each other’s company in stunning scenery, and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

After the trek we will take a flight back to Kathmandu (25 minutes) and have the remainder of the day to rest or sightsee before you leave for home on the 21st of November.

Why:

When is the last time you enjoyed 9 nights abroad for yourselves? To develop as a couple, rediscover each other and to have adventures you deserve?

NOTE: THIS PARTICULAR INTO THE WILD TRIP IS ALL ABOUT THE HIKING, ADVENTURE AND THE INCREDIBLE SIGHTS AND EXPERIENCES.

What:

A couple’s adventure vacation built to help you rediscover you and your partner’s connection, your passions, and this beautiful earth you live on. An experience that will make you feel youthful and adventurous (and tired!). A moment to be close whatever it is that drives you. A bonding experience not to be missed.

We will hike together. Make lots of new friends, and laugh a lot, and create unforgettable memories, together, of course.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This retreat will involve a lot of physical activity. We encourage you to strive for and get to a moderate/advanced hiking level by October 2026 so you can be ready to trek/hike and adventure with the group. If you have any questions at all about what this means, just ask! Wendy@itwadventure.com

Disclaimer: Due to the nature of retreat planning- there are not refunds, only re-sales of your ticket in which you must find a buyer. IMPORTANT: if you end up not being ready for this hike, you can transfer your ticket to another trip for a $500 fee plus the difference in costs between retreats. You must do this before 90 days before the trip.

Into The Wild is requiring its trip attendees to provide proof of travel insurance purchase for this trip. Generally this costs an extra $100USD per person, and can save your bacon when traveling and things go wrong. Please email wendy@itwadventure.com if you have any questions about getting travel insurance.

ITINERARY: (Subject to changes)

*Note: Hiking days vary from 4.5-7 miles a day, elevation gain or loss is noted below.

Day 1, November 12th: Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport and check in to hotel after 3pm. This day will be about arriving, relaxing after travel, and preparing for the adventurous week ahead! We will be having dinner at 7pm, so if you can only arrive after this, that’s fine, just be aware that you’ll be missing the first dinner.

Day 2, November 13th: Breakfast, and then a full day of sightseeing. First we head to the Boudhanath Stupa on the outskirts of central Kathmandu. This is possibly the world’s largest Buddhist stupa and a site of great veneration for Buddhists. Around the stupa are a number of monasteries of the different sects of Tibetan Buddhism including one that houses an enormous seated statue of Maitreya Buddha splendidly adorned. Then we will drive to Bhaktapur City (40 min drive). We will walk the 17th century cobblestone streets which link temples, monastery courtyards and monumental squares, and marvel at the ancient architecture. Most traffic is banned and there is a vibrant cultural life with strong communities of potters, carvers and weavers.

Day 3, November 14th: Today will be a transfer day to our next hiking destinations. We will have breakfast in the morning, and then fly to Pokhara, then transfer to our hotel and relax and have dinner and rest up for the hiking tomorrow.

Day 4, November 15th: Early morning breakfast, and then we drive to Naya Pul (1 hr). The trek starts with a steep descent to a stream, and then we continue to climb steadily up the side of the valley until we reach Hille. Elevation gain for today will be 2156ft, and the hike is expected to take 4-5 hours.

Day 5, November 16th: Breakfast, then we head out. We will hike from Hille to Ghorepani today– climbing through pastures and fields, crossing streams with suspension bridges, and walking through deep forests of magnificent oak and rhododendron. The elevation gain for today will be 4494 ft, and it will take us between 6-7 hours.

Day 6, November 17th: Today we will head out on an early sunrise hike to Poon Hill, which will provide an unobstructed view of the high Himalaya. The spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and Tarke Kang (formally known as Glacier Dome) are worth the hour climb, which you start before dawn so that you are at Poon Hill for sunrise. Then we return to have breakfast and depart to our next teahouse in Tadapani. Today there will be a total elevation loss of 721 ft, but we will be going up and down steep inclines throughout the day, and it will take us about 7 hours.

Day 7, November 18th: Breakfast. Today is mostly descending hiking, offering some of the finest trekking in Nepal. We hike down through forests and terraced fields, and experience beautiful ridge line views and farming villages. The total elevation loss today will be 2329 ft.

Day 8, November 19th: Breakfast, and then our final day of trekking. Today is another downhill day, with an elevation loss if 3600 ft. The trail drops at first on a staircase, and then traverses high above the river on a wide stone-paved trail. We continue on through the bottom of a river valley, passing through a birch forest along the way. The last stretch of trail to Birethanti is rough and rocky and we end with a steep climb up the hill to the road where we will be picked up and driven back to Pokhara for the night.

Day 9, November 20th: Breakfast, and then we fly back to Kathmandu where we will have a restful and relaxing day before flying home tomorrow.

Day 10, November 21st: Breakfast and departure. You can leave anytime, but if you depart after hotel checkout you’ll need to self entertain or spend the extra time at the airport until your flight. Thank you for coming!!

We aim for friendships to be formed with other couples- it’s one of the top features of Into the Wild retreats, as stated by couples who’ve participated in the past.

A reminder: your expenses are all paid, except your flights to and from Kathmandu from your home, extra alcohol, extra snacks, bottled water and any souvenirs. We cover lodging, activities, food, transport, etc!

Couples retreats are an amazing thing to experience. You come often not knowing anyone except your partner, not knowing what to expect. And you leave with a set of new, awesome, genuine friends who all experienced the same exciting, immersive, life-changing experience.
