kenya safari, july 25-August 2, 2026
Into the Wild kenya is the safari adventure you’ve been dreaming of—a journey that takes you deep into the heart of Africa with other amazing women, where you’ll experience iconic wildlife, stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and the magic of the wild.
Join Melodi of @wayfaringlore on this incredible adventure! From the moment you land in Nairobi, Kenya welcomes you with open arms. Safe, welcoming, and world-renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty, Kenya is the ultimate safari destination. We’ll journey across five national parks and reserves, each more jaw-dropping than the last, and every step of the way you’ll be immersed in unforgettable moments.
At $4799, this trip gives you everything: in-country transportation (including a one-way flight straight to Samburu!), meals, lodging, park fees, and activities—all curated so you can simply show up and live the adventure of a lifetime.
Here’s a taste of what awaits:
Nairobi → Our journey begins here before we board a one-way flight into the wild.
Samburu National Reserve → Unique wildlife you won’t see anywhere else, including Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe.
Lake Nakuru → Home to protected black and white rhinos, where you’ll see these magnificent creatures thriving in safety.
Lake Naivasha → We’ll stay right on the lake, where the local animals including hippos wander onto land in the evenings. Here, we’ll take a water safari and even set out on a walking safari for a closer connection with nature.
Masai Mara National Reserve → The crown jewel of Kenya. Witness the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, visit the Mara River to see the thrilling (and sometimes nail-biting) crossings, and soak up the endless savannah skies amongst the plethora of animals.
This is a trip where you’ll see Africa’s Big 5—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—plus so much more. You’ll wake to glowing sunrises, toast to fiery sunsets, and gain a deep appreciation for the natural rhythm of life in the wild.
And the best part? You don’t have to plan a thing. We’ve done it all for you. Your only job is to show up, be present, and let Kenya’s magic wash over you.

This retreat is for the adventurous woman who craves fun, discovery, and meaning. Into the Wild Kenya will change the way you see the world—and yourself.
Here are the fine details of this trip. VERY important to read these things!
No visa is required for US citizens to enter Kenya, but you will need to get eTA, that is currently $32, about a week before your arrival.
Your passport must have 6 moths remaining before expiration, along with sufficient blank pages.
Each participant is responsible for contacting their local health department to find out which vaccinations are needed/advised for visiting Kenya.
We will be moving hotels/lodges five times, so please be ready to pack lightly and move frequently. This allows us to see so much of Kenya. Laundry is readily available along the way for a fee.
This is a road trip. Aside from our first flight (eliminating a 7 hour drive), we will be in the car each day on game drives and have about 18 hours of transit time in addition. There is flexibility in how much time you want to spend doing game drives, if wanting longer we can get a breakfast box to go, if shorter, we can return for breakfast, etc.
For this adventure, we’d like anyone who signs up to be really flexible about schedules and able to endure long days. We’re packing in a lot of game drives, travel, and new experiences.
Car sick folks will have a rough time on this trip if you don’t have a good motion sickness medicine solution. If you are a car sick prone person, please have a plan figured out beforehand as to how to fight the carsickness! I personally use Zofran and it works wonders.
Most meals at the hotels are buffet style with a wide range of variety from fruits and vegetables, to rice, beans, meat dishes, etc. There are times we’ll order a breakfast box to go to allow for transit time or more time game viewing.
HERE IS An ITINERARY OF THE TRIP (GET READY FOR EXCITEMENT!) SUBJECT TO CHANGES/SHUFFLING ACTIVITIES AROUND.
July 25: Everyone arrives in Nairobi to stay at our hotel near the airport.
July 26: We’ll take a morning flight on a small plane to Samburu National Park. Upon arrival we’ll relax and enjoy our lunch and then begin our adventure with our first game drive. Samburu is known for the “special five” animals that you won’t see anywhere else in Kenya.
July 27: Early morning game drive-this is the best time to get out and look for any overnight activities and to see the big cats lurking before they bed down for the day. We will return to our hotel for lunch and a break and go out again for an afternoon game drive.
July 28: We’ll get our breakfast and then make our way South towards Lake Nakuru (6 hours). This area is known for its large flamboyance of flamingos along the shores of the lake. This park is fenced in an effort to keep the white rhinos and critically endangered black rhinos safe from poachers. If we’re lucky, we’ll see a tree climbing lion here amongst many other animals.
July 29: After breakfast we’ll drive 1.5 hours to Lake Naivasha. We will take a small motor boat out into the lake for a water safari where we’ll see a large variety of birds and of course, hippos, in the water and along the shores sunbathing. We’ll take a walking safari amongst the herbivore animals, looking for giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles, etc. Our hotel will border the lake and we’ll see African animals roving the grounds, especially hippos at night.
July 30: We’ll depart and drive to Masai Mara (5 hours), one of the best parks for game viewing in all of Africa. We’ll be staying at a hotel deep into the park which gives us quick and easy access between our meals and the beginning and end of our days.
July 31: High on the bucket list for this area is visiting the Mara River to see the famous migration crossing of the zebras and wildebeest. You’ll see them standing at the edge of the river for a long time and hopefully we’ll see the zebras finally get up the nerve to cross and begin, then hundreds to thousands of animals follow them. Quite the sight to see. Our hotel is 15 minutes from the Mara River.
August 1: We’ll start off the day with another game drive first thing in the morning. We will visit a local Maasai village. They are a local tribe within the area that still lives off the land. They brandish red tunics (because they say it scares lions away), jump very high, and live in mud homes. We will learn their ways of life, hear their songs, jump along with them, and shop their wares. Our day will end with a game drive and watch the action begin as the temperatures drop and the animals wake from their naps. We’ll return to the hotel for our buffet dinner.
August 2: We’ll start off with breakfast and begin our game drive as we exit the park. We have about a 5 hour drive back to the Nairobi airport. Your trip is officially over at this point. Book your return flight after 8pm.
