Note: During this trip, it will not get dark at night :)

Because we wanted something that was deeper and more immersive, we will be mostly staying in hotels, guest homes and airbnbs. ALL rooms are SHARED rooms.

THIS IS THE PLANNED ITINERARY (weather permitting):

July 9th: Meet up in Bergen. Best time to arrive is after noon. We will hang out, eat, and wait for everyone to arrive as well as check into our hotel and do some relaxing and wandering around town.

July 10th: Today after breakfast we will travel from Bergen to Flam and the Næroyfjord National Park. It’s a less than 3 hour drive. Upon arrival, we will eat lunch and check out the little adorable villages, and finally we will hike to Prest. The hike is 4 miles on an out and back trail, and we’ll gain 2,000 feet elevation for our first stunning views of Norwegian Fjords. The hike is steep at times but worth it! If we finish the hike on time we can watch Sunset at Stegastein viewpoint. We will stay in Flam for the night.

July 11th: Today after breakfast we will head out on a long day hike. There is no better spot to admire Næroyfjord than from the summit of Bakkanosi. This hike takes 6-8 hours, is stunning, and it’s about 11 miles. Total ascent is 3,084 feet. In the evening after the hike, we will relax at our hotel, dine, and have a wonderful time together.

July 12th: Today is a rest day, and we will drive to Jotunheimen along the Valdresflye Scenic Route. It’s only about 2.5 hours but there are lots of wonderful stops along the way to turn this into a terrific road trip adventure.

July 13th: After our rest day, we’ll be ready for a new epic hike with tons of views of Jotunheimen National Park. Our hike today is the Besseggen trail and it starts with a bus ride and then a scenic boat ride to the trailhead. The hike is 9.6 miles, 3,000 feet elevation gain, and point-to-point. We will skip this hike if it’s a rainy day as there is one small section of scrambling on a cliff side. I think we’d all be perfectly safe, but as a retreat leader I don’t mess with rain and cliffside scrambles :). We’ll have a wonderful dinner and rest after this hike!

July 14th:  Today is another road trip day full of awesome stops. Our goal is to drive to Geiranger Fjord which is 3.5 hours. The route is famous for its scenic views and a little historic village. When we arrive, we (weather permitting) will do a small kayak trip on the fjord! We’ll check into our hotel afterward, attempt to watch a glorious sunset at Ørnesvingen viewpoint, and have dinner.

July 15th: After breakfast we will head out for our last hike. I plan on doing the Kattanakken hike, however it’s not easy, so we can definitely re-evaluate how we are feeling when we’re there. There are soooo many hikes in the area! The Kattanakken hike is 7 miles out and back with 4200 feet elevation. That’s a lot! But we can do it if we decide we want to :) After the hike we will have one last night of relaxation before heading back to Bergen.

July 16th: Road trip back to Bergen! This will be an ALL day event because even though the drive is technically 5 hours, we will want to stop and enjoy what the scenic route has to offer. We will have one last night in a hotel, the 16th. On the 17th, I will get you to the airport in the morning so you can fly back to Oslo most likely, and then back to your homes :)

July 17th: Not a retreat day, but breakfast and transport are provided back to the airport before 10 am!
